Eliza the 3 (almost 4) Month Old!

Right after bath time! One of few pictures where Eliza looks like my (Erica's) baby pictures.
This was a hard picture to get! Its hard to tell, but she has a birthmark right below her neck that looks like a price tag/ barcode.  Pretty fitting since it was a little expensive (could have been worse!) to get her here! :)
P
Our happy little 3 month-er. Thanks Nikki for the sign again! We're at my parent's house for most of these pictures. We were there for 3 weeks while Andrew studied and took his Board exam, Step 1.  We are VERY glad that is over!
She has been fascinated by the camera, so its been harder to get smiles out of her when we're taking pictures. Dang it!
Helping Mom with laundry.  You can't really tell, but she grabbed some pants.

I don't think she wanted me to take her picture.  I feel like I just had a flash-forward, with her making this face, saying, "Mom! Don't!
Caught in the act! Grabbing her gym toys.  Josh, my brother, helped teach her how to grab her toys (putting them in her hands), and the day he went into the MTC for his mission for our church, she grabbed it on her own.  What a great uncle-- teaching her stuff already! This play gym is the best-- she loves it! (Thanks again to the Ebberts!)

I left for maybe one minute on Tuesday to find her rolled to her side, trying to look out the window.  I thought it was just a fluke, but she did it again today! She is definitely making her opinions more known lately, and really wants to move when she does tummy time (or anytime really).  Somehow she goes from one end of the blanket to the other with how she shimmies her legs.
Reading books with Dad before bedtime.
 Photo shoot!

She is quite the slobber queen lately.
And her favorite toys right now... her fingers.

Eliza at 2 Months

So this is a bit late, but Eliza was 2 months on May 6th! She's now almost 11 weeks, and I can't believe it! She is as cute as ever.  Here are some things she loves:

-Talking.  She is happiest when Andrew or I (or Grandma, Grandpa, etc.) talk to her. She makes so many fun noises and seems sometimes like she's trying to laugh, but just can't. When we've been in for her doctor appointments, many of the nurses have commented on how she is a talker. She is also a talker in her sleep, which is fun..
-Her bouncy seat.  (Thanks Ebberts!!) She LOVES sitting in it and kicking her legs.
-Kicking her legs! She is so happy when I lay or sit her down right after she eats.  The other day she kicked me in the stomach, and it hurt! She's got a power kick.
-Her binky.
-Our ceiling fan.  She could look at the for a really long time. Does anyone know if this hurts their eyes?!
-Her Daddy.  Yesterday all she wanted to do was watch her Dad.  She would watch him and follow him with her eyes wherever he went.
-Singing.  Or at least we'd like to think she likes our singing.

Loving her Bumbo, and stylin' in her new hat from Andrew's Aunt! (Thanks Kristina!)
 Her "Mom is weird" face.
You can kind of see her red hair in this one.
 So cute!

Another cute one in her bouncy seat. We love how alert and interactive she is! Its so much fun. Cute dress from Grandma Lowe!

Very sleepy before church. I put on her entire outfit and she stayed asleep the whole time!
 Daddy time.
Kicking her legs and moving those arms!

Thanks Aunt Nikki for the cute sign! And Mom for the cute dress.
She is such a happy little girl, and we love her!

Eliza's First Month

Our cute little girl.

Eliza NOT freaking out during her bath-- she actually likes it now. As far as we can tell.

Eliza's first walk-- we were pretty excited, and I was pretty excited to get out of the apartment.
A cute little sweatshirt one of my dad's coworkers gave to us. I'd say that this is a pretty guilty looking waskly-wabbit.

Her first tummy time! She turned her head TWICE-- we thought it was pretty amazing.
I can't figure out how to turn this-- sorry! But this is our first outing to the mall. It was a big deal for us!
Eliza at 4 weeks! My family was in town this week and we had fun dressing her up. Unfortunately she blew out of this outfit later that day. You can kind of tell from this picture that she had plans of her own.

Something must have been yucky.
Sorry for all of the pictures of the 1 month shot. I couldn't choose!
This was on Easter Sunday.

Her first outfit to church! And her Easter dress. Life sure is great with her around!

Facts about our little one

We are loving our little girl! We cannot believe that she is going to be 6 weeks on Tuesday. It seems like some days are long, but the weeks have been flying by. I'm not sure how that works. Its amazing/fun/sad how much she's grown in the past few weeks. When I think about the day she was born, I'm forgetting how much of a whirlwind it was, and remembering all of the sweet moments I wish I could go back to. Andrew said the other day, "Can you imagine not having Eliza?" And I can't.
Fun facts about our little girl:
  • She has strawberry blonde hair! And lots of it! (Except for in the front...) Andrew and I were a little shocked when we first saw it-- we were definitely expecting her either to be bald or have white blonde hair (which we both did). I definitely have red-heads on my side of the family (its pretty much the same color as my sister's), so we know it came from somewhere. It is so cute! It'll probably eventually turn blonde, but you never know!
  • She loves her binkie. A lot.
  • She's starting to make fun sounds-- cooing and grunting and all sorts of noises. Its the best.
  • We think she's smiling at us now. It seems to be more than just gas.
  • She is really good at focusing on things, and we can tell when she is looking at us.
  • She loves to move-- which I guess I knew when I was pregnant with her. She's definitely discovering her arms and legs and loves to lay on the floor and stretch them all out.
  • She loves to look at our blinds and out our porch window. It seems like she's entranced when she's facing them. Simple pleasures!
  • She's fitting into her 0-3 month clothes! It's crazy to see clothes getting too small for her-- I guess she really is growing! I have a hard time believing that we're doing enough to keep her alive AND help her grow.
  • She loves her Dad, and I'm pretty sure she prefers him to me.

Pictures coming soon! We have lots-- I just need Andrew's computer...

Eliza Ann Lowe
7 lbs. 3 oz.
19 1/4 inches long
We love her!
This is a picture of a proud Daddy! Our first day with Eliza.

With Grandma Thomas

A lady in my family's ward made these adorable hats for Eliza. This one coordinated really well.

Her first bath at the hospital.

At home with Grandma.

My Dad and two sisters, Nikki and Amber, came down to visit last weekend. We loved it! It was the best.

Aunt Amber

We pretty much just look at her all day. We think she's pretty darn cute.

Aunt Nikki

First bath at home. She's so not loving it.

One of my favorites.

Update

We will be having our baby TOMORROW! How did that happen?!

Well, our little girl decided she wanted to be head up the other week (breech). We went in to have her flipped (an external version), but unfortunately, she really liked where she was and didn't move at all. So, we have a scheduled c-section for tomorrow morning! I like knowing when we are going to have her and knowing that it'll be relatively quick, but was pretty disappointed at first to have to have a c-section. I have been having lots of contractions on and off, so we've been praying that she'll just wait one more day!

I can't believe we're going to be parents. We are so excited, but feeling a little bit in shock. Tomorrow our life will never be the same! :) And we can't wait.
