Thoughts on having a 2 year old!

I've been putting off doing this post because then I would really have to admit that we have a 2 year old! Don't get me wrong, this stage is SO much fun, but I've had many mixed emotions lately.  Sadness that she isn't a baby anymore.  Concern that we weren't raising her the right way! The biggest one is an IMMENSE amount of gratitude and happiness that we were blessed with becoming her parents two years ago-- a blessing, for a long time, we weren't sure we would have.  She brings us so much joy! As with many, if not all, 2 years olds, the level of intensity of her tantrums has exponentially increased since her actual birthday, yet we still think she is the most wonderful little girl in the world.

But don't get me wrong, she's still little!

I've waited so long for her to love this dress! :) Princess Eliza.

Fun in Daddy's sweatshirt.

I'm so grateful that she love books!
Saying "cheese."

Eliza is so much fun! Her speech has really picked up and we are shocked everyday by the things she says.  She knows her colors, some of her shapes and numbers, and we're working on letters! She is getting very independent and insists on putting on her pants, shoes, socks, you name it.  She also likes to pick out her outfits...  She loves Elmo, Sofia the First, Dora, her puzzles, books, animals, "cleaning" with mommy, playing doctor, running, dancing, trains, throwing balls (she has a pretty good arm!), bubbles...
We sure do love this girl.

Thanksgiving

We were so lucky to be able to have my parents and sister, Amber, come down to our place for Thanksgiving this year! This was our first time hosting a holiday, so it was pretty exciting for us.  We were in charge of the turkey, so Andrew took it on as his special project.  It turned out awesome!

My mom, the mastermind, pretty much did all of the work!
Eliza LOVED having everyone there with so many friends to play with her.  She is one spoiled girl!

Yum! I'm ready for Thanksgiving again!
I love these people! We have so much to be grateful for.

Halloween...

Well, better late than never, right? Andrew is just finishing up his interviews for residency next year, so hopefully we can get back to normal life pretty soon! And that means not being 4 months behind on our blog.

Eliza was an owl for Halloween! She loves to find owls and say, "Whoo!", so we figured she'd make a pretty cute owl.  And we were right!

Here we are at our ward Halloween party.  Eliza didn't completely get it, but she definitely got that there were a lot of treats that she could eat.

 Candy! This picture's my favorite.
There was a little "parade" on the stage for the kids to show off their costumes.  I think they were pretty confused!

 It was pretty awesome!
Outside at the Trunk-r-Treat.  Eliza loved it! She has a sweet tooth, just like her Daddy!
